RIP Maggie Thatcher and Annette Funicello

Look at a day when you are supremely satisfied at the end. It’s not a day when you lounge around doing nothing; it’s when you’ve had everything to do, and you’ve done it.
~ Margaret Thatcher

Maggie Thatcher, the Iron Lady. You may not always agree with her. Most of the time I didn’t.

However I admired her immensely. She knew what she wanted and she went after it. Not easy in the best of times but especially when she was coming up.  No matter how you felt about her, we lost a political icon today.

“Life does not have to be perfect to be wonderful.”  Annette Funicello

Annette would know that. She had been fighting MS for years and finally lost her battle today. The  girl who was the object of many a teenage boys lust and the woman who later did commercials for Skippy Peanut Butter.  She will forever be associated with Walt Disney and the Mickey Mouse Club.  For many of us, a piece of our childhood chipped away today.

May they both Rest in Peace.
