I hope everyone has had a Happy Easter ! Yes Easter is one of the most solemn holidays in the christian calendar. Growing up it was a time for an Easter dress and my mothers never-ending search for a hat that fit my big head. Very heard to do,which is why a lot of Easter pictures have me with either no hat or one of those little half hat thingies that sat on the back of your head.
Of course there was the dinner, ham or lamb, with all us kids it was usually ham, potatoes, veggies and rolls. But best of all is the candy. As any kid will tell you Easter is all about the candy.
In tha spirit I thought I would share some facts on candies and Easter that I found in my local paper, the AZ Daily Star
A lot of us give up candy or any kind of sweet for Lent. That is 40 sugar-free days! Is it any wonder that it is a holiday of chocolate bunnies, eggs, peeps and lets not forget jelly beans. It is the second biggest holiday for candy sales beat only by Halloween
Chocolate eggs and rabbits first appeared in Germany in the 19th century. Jelly beans joined then in the 1930’s.
Some more fun facts from the National Confectioners Association.

-90 million chocolate bunnies are made for Easter each year
-76 percent of people first eat the ears of chocolate bunnies.
-16 billion jelly beans are made for Easter,
So, are you part of that 76 percent?
