Oscar Night

Love-  Love – Love the Oscars. Have watched them for as long as I can remember.   I’ve loved movies since as long as I can remember.  It was my mother who got me interested in mo vies of the 30’s and 40’s and I just continued from there. I think she did it so I wouldn’t be reading so much, but that’s another blog.

Anyway, here I sit again watching the Academy Awards, my favorite host is back. My husband, god bless him, sat thru the entire red carpet show without complaint.   He knows even though we may not get to see many of the nominated movies, I will still be there, watching.

At least I didn’t have to switch between the Oscars and Downton Abby, we don’t have a DVR.  🙂

Downton Abby Meals

Like a lot of us I am hooked on Downton Abby. One thing that never ceased to amaze me is the amount of food that was consumed back them.  I found an article in the Huffington Post on meals during the Edwardian period and what you might want to make for a similar dinner in modern times. .  Check it out.  I love to cook but seriously doubt I would ever do a dinner like that. I’d be too tired to enjoy it,

Tonight was the last episode of Season 2 and we must wait an entire year for Season 3. Shirley MacLaine is joining the cast and I can not wait to see her up against Maggie Smith.  If you love Maggie as much as I do check out this video on pbs.org
