Geneology

Call it a clan, call it a network, call it a tribe, call it a family. Whatever you call it, whoever you are, you need one. ~Jane Howard

I came on this in a site called quote garden and it particularly fit what I am doing when I am not writing.
I’ve gotten hooked on genealogy, not as much as reading and writing but it’s up there.
Why do this? Not because I think we’re related to royalty somewhere, I’d be very surprised if that happened. I’m doing this for a simple reason, actually two. My nieces and nephews.
Those who know me know that my mom died when I was seventeen. My brothers ranged in age from 18 down to 3 at that time. It’s for their children that I do this. So they can find out something about their grandmother and grandfather and the family that is the reason their father is here today.
It’s slow, I’m doing this in my copious spare time (ok friends, stop laughing) but it’s getting done.
My cousin allowed me access to what he has so far for my mothers side of the family. Can’t wait to further explore that side of the family. My favorite find so far? I found a picture of the ship that took my husband’s grandmother from Russia to England.
